I'm not one to use a logbook but I feel compelled to use it for amazing discoveries, now especially for the object I found today. When you jumped into the system it was right there in your face you couldn't miss it. A massive ring system around a brown dwarf orbiting the main star. The size of the ring system when you jump into the system is comparable to holding a quarter at arms length, truly massive for an object visible the moment you jump into the system. When flying towards the brown dwarf, the rings quickly envelop your view and soon enough its nothing but the color of the rings. Even at this distance where the rings dominate your view, the brown dwarf is still around 50 ls from you and appears tiny. The diameter of the rings is around 84 ls which i didn't think was possible since the rings would be subject to massive gravitational forces by the nearby main star and the other planetary bodies. But here it is in its magnificent glory.
I theorize that the ring system was recently formed in a collision between some of the planetary bodies orbiting the brown dwarf. Currently there is only one "moon" orbiting and a gas giant farther away. I will bookmark the system for now and continue my expedition. I hope to run into more amazing places like this system.
