The Chi Persei Cluster (NGC 884) is an open cluster of bright O-type and B-type stars and a part of the Perseus OB1 association. Several neutron stars and black holes can also be found as companions. Blue supergiant HD 14143 is also present.
The cluster is also notable for having many of the top 10 largest known stars, all red supergiants:
- RS Persei A, 2nd largest known star, 1264 solar radii
- V439 Persei A, 6th largest known star, 917 solar radii
- V403 Persei A, 7th largest known star, 905 solar radii
- FZ Persei A, 8th largest known star, 823 solar radii
Together with its associated 'brother', the h Persei Cluster (NGC 869), these two deep sky objects are also named the Double Cluster.
