A very large nebula situated approx. 9,000 LYs from Sol along the Orion Spur and across the Vela Molecular Ridge. One of the earliest explored nebula's, first visited during the New Horizons Expedition - when the early "Gamma-Phase" of testing current FSD technology was being undertaken.
The nebula is one of the largest diffuse nebulae when seen from Earth. Although it is some four times as large and even brighter than the famous Orion Nebula, the Carina Nebula is much less well known, due to its location in the southern sky.
The nebula itself is varied and impressive and you could spend an entire expedition just to explore this area. Large populations of Bell Molluscs and so-called Brain Trees has been reported within the nebula.
