This neutron star system was selected for study by the Deep Space Surveys corporation, based out of the Explorer's Anchorage, and is subsequently part of the DSSV Distant Worlds' "A Journey of Scientific Study" itinerary. The megaship travels to, and studies, a collection of scientific points of interest around the galactic core.
The location is named after Jocelyn Bell, an astrophysicist in the 20th century from Northern Ireland who, as a postgraduate student, co-discovered the first radio pulsars in 1967.
