This black hole was first detected in 2006 and classified as a low-mass X-ray binary, in which in-falling matter from a small companion star causes intense bursts of x-rays. The black hole is nearly 150 stellar masses, and the companion star is a class K dwarf of 0.60 stellar mass. Several smaller bodies can also be found in the system.
Planets 1 e a and 1 f offer excellent views of ringed gas giants.
