(Diamondback Explorer)
Returned to Pallaeni today, thus bringing my voyage to a close. Many thoughts on my neutron discoveries, but I will share those after a very, very long nap in the cryopod. One thing I can definitely say though: nothing in the bubble will ever seem far away again...
It has been many months since I was first in this region of stars, on the outward bound leg of our Distant Worlds 2 journey to Beagle Point. I've been taking my time coming back, stopping first at Explorers' Anchorage to sell my data. After a long layover, I headed to Colonia, fulfilling a promise to myself to visit it on the way back.
I missed visiting it on the way out, because of this region of stars. After the first community goal for DW2 was complete, I went exploring. Up above the galactic plane, and it was here that I made my first, and so far only, major exploration discovery. I mapped over 40 new neutrons not far from here, unusually densely packed for neutrons, as well as several white dwarves and my 1st black hole.
I fell several days behind the expediton mapping them, and never did catch up really. I took some notes and lots of screenshots, and just didn't have much time to do anything with it. Until now that is.
I've returned to this region again to revisit some of the systems in this cluster that bear my name, but also, and more importantly, to see if the cluster extends any further...
The answer, I can already see, is going to be yes it does...
Got some mapping to do, more to follow.
