Medium/large nebula, reddish orange, with many beautiful prominences. In Ancient Egypt, Aaru (Field of Rushes) was the afterlife, situated in a dark area of space where there are no stars. Situated 2500 ly above the galactic plane, this nebula does not have many stars above it, giving a spectacular view of the bright band of the Milky Way far below.
