S Class star that is part of the DSSV Distant Worlds' "A Journey of Scientific Study" itinerary, based out of the Explorer's Anchorage. This star is thought to be the closest carbon star to Sagittarius A*, and is a rarity in this part of the galactic core.
Merrill's Legacy is named in honour of astronomer, Paul Merrill, who defined this particular star class in 1922.
