Sirius Interim National Council (SINC for short) is pleased to announce a very slow trip from Teppanik to Garuda in Colonia along the Formidine Rift. There will be plenty of stops, informal and the occasional fortnightly mass jump. The expedition is carrier assisted with a full service carrier, Sir Chonk A Lot. Sir Chonk has UC and Vista Genomics to help weary travelers avoid expensive accidents. Bring all your ships and fun toys that you'd like to use along the way or engineer in Colonia. We will be having a final week-long celebration of engineer unlocks, assisting new Cmdrs in opening the ship and suit engineers alike.
Our journey starts in Teppanik with a mass jump at 2300 UTC / in-game time to allow participation by the Australian co-leaders of the expedition. You can load your ships and modules onto the expedition's carrier, Sir Chonk A Lot, so bring all your toys, and anything you'd like to get engineered in Colonia. Sir Chonk is a full service carrier, with RRR, shipyard, outfitting, Universal Cartographics and Vista Genomics (so you can do those dodgy things with less risk), bartender to buy and sell stuff by arrangement between Cmdrs. We ask for the occasional donation of tritium if you bring a mining ship with you.
This will be our Week 1 stop for Sir Chonk a Lot. You are free to explore as you please, but if we are holding an event, it will be in or near this system.
This will be our Week 2 stop for Sir Chonk a Lot. You are free to explore as you please, but if we are holding an event, it will be in or near this system. If you have a short to mid-range ship (<50 ly), you may wish to see if you can plot to WP 14 to make sure you can get there. If not, jump on Sir Chonk and arrive in style.
This will be our Week 3 stop for Sir Chonk a Lot. You are free to explore as you please, but if we are holding an event, it will be in or near this system.
This will be our Week 4 stop for Sir Chonk a Lot. You are free to explore as you please, but if we are holding an event, it will be in or near this system. Unusually, Sir Chonk will depart for one way point shy of the most dangerous system in the expedition. Please be aboard by no later than WP 19 - Spongou FA-A e2.
Week 5 (a) Stop. Sir Chonk will be here until Friday evening US time (around 0500 in-game time). At 0500, Sir Chonk will move to the most difficult and dangerous system in the expedition so you have an entire weekend to explore the delights of the next system. You should be safe on the carrier, and on top of that, you should be able to leave the location without too much risk. If in doubt, cash in your exploration data.
This will be our Week 5 (b) stop for Sir Chonk a Lot. You are free to explore as you please, but if we are holding an event, it will be in or near this system. As this system is extremely dangerous to jump into, please jump aboard Sir Chonk at the previous way point (Spongou FA-A e2).
Situated between the Bovomit Badlands and the far edge of the Formidine Rift, this system can pose an extreme hazard to any starships hyperspacing to it. Its primary star is a harmless AE/BE Herbig Protostar, but the danger lies in a Blue Giant companion in extreme proximity and two orbiting black holes. Starships approaching from the wrong vector can easily become wedged in the inferno between the primary and secondary stars, or exit hyperspace very close to one of the black holes. Explorers beware.
Weeks 8 & 9 Sir Chonk waypoint to allow folks to catch up, plus this waypoint has CHANGED.
Summary (from GEC):
An Earth-like World orbiting a gas giant. The ELW has a landable moon with volcanism.
Description:
The fifth planet in this system is a class III gas giant, and its second moon, 5 b, is an Earth-like world. Such moons are already rare, but what makes this one even rarer is that it has a nested moon of its own. Unlike its parent, that nested moon is landable and has surface volcanism too.
In such orbital configurations, the nested moon tends to orbit its parent moon quite close by, which is the case here. Explorers who land on 5 b a will see the Earth-like world appear large on the sky. This can make for some spectacular sights, and Commanders interested in taking photographs can also include the volcanic vents and geysers of the nested moon in their pictures too.
There is more to this system, however: the third moon of the class III gas giant, 5 c, is a gas giant as well, with water-based life. The three moons of Bya Phla VE-H d10-16 5 resemble a small system of their own. The wider system also includes a ringed water world and a water giant as the farthest planet.

Week 12 Sir Chonk Way Point. This is for the daring and brave. It's only 500 ly from Colonia, so either sell your data to Sir Chonk or drop it in Garuda and come back. You should watch a video on how to best approach landing. Being in your SRV means your ship won't cook and you won't die. Do not be outside in a suit, you will die. In short, there are a lot of ways to die in this beautiful system that has truly earned its moniker.
Our journey will come to a close with our arrival at Garuda, which is GalCop Colonial Defence Commission's HQ. We will have a wonderful arrival weekend planned, including assisting newcomers with opening all Colonia engineers. Stock up on mats, you're gonna need them! Try to have at least mats for one G5 recipe in each of the ship engineers.
After the Colonia arrival and engineering weekend concludes, you are free to return to journey on to wherever your heart takes you, or you can stay in Colonia, or return to the bubble aboard Sir Chonk A Lot. It's entirely up to you. The trip back to Teppanik in the bubble will take approximately five to seven days because Cmdr Purrfect has no self-control when it comes to exploring and sightseeing.
