Arrived for the Discovery and mapping survey of the rift. The intention is to map as much of the sector as possible. Today 8 new stars were discovered and 61 planetary bodies. All were fully mapped.
With the new Logitech X52Pro delivered from Earth, I am back on the road again. Travelling through the Elysian Shore en route to the Formidine Rift for a mapping survey.
My Hotas Joystick has finally made it to London (Earth). I am told it will now take 48 hours to get it to me in the Elysian shore. I am itching to get flying again and map as much of the Formidine Rift as I can. Also hoping there is a fully equipped Fleet Carrier there or a base, so I can store my upload my Cartographics every now and again, just in case of problems.
After a week's shore leave I return to my ship to find that i am still stuck without a flight controller. I know I am a long way form Earth, but come on Guys; I have a rift to explore. For now I am limited to trying to familiarise myself with the stars in the Formidine Rift until I can actually visit.
Heading back out to the Formidine Rift for an extensive mapping survey. Hopefully all will go to plan as I am carrying 2 SRVs and plenty of storage space in my Anaconda with basic 50ly jump capability to avoid most problems (except bungled landings!) A minor problem has occurred in that my HOTAS has been damaged and so I am currently just sitting in the Elysian Shore area awaiting a replacement which should be along in a few days.
A Celebration day today, as i docked at New Beginning in the Rosette Sector CQ-Y d59 system. I finally acheived Elite explorer status (first of the Three Elites) when I handed in over 550 million credits worth of Universal Cartographics. I also have handed over 8 escape pods found whilst exploring. Had a dump any salvage cargo I found to carry them, so must upgrade my storage.
