Galactic Mapping > Routes > Inner Orion Spur Tour: Beyond the Bubble
Overview:
Beyond the Bubble takes you on a loop tour of the 'southeast' section of the Inner Orion Spur in order to:
- Provide as many codex entries in as short a distance as possible
- Introduce players to the basics of exploration and discovery
- Provide good compensation through gaining credits and exploration rank
Expected End-State:
- 96 Codex Entries Filled
- Approximately 10M credits in cartographic data, resulting in Pathfinder rank in Exploration.
- Guardian Module Blueprint in-hand for module of choice (we suggest FSD Booster)
- Guardian Key in-hand
- Engineer invitations: Elvira Martuuk, Felicity Farseer
Statistics:
- Systems Visited: 35
- Min. Total Distance Travelled: 4491.93 Ly
- Furthest Travelled from Sol: 980 Ly
Needed Modules:
- Fuel Scoop
- SRV (for guardian structure and mat gathering)
- Shields
- Point Defense Turret (on dorsal side of ship)
- 1 small laser of any type (hard point, for Guardian Beacon)
Suggested Routine:
In-transit systems:
- Jump into System
- Honk (Discovery Scanner)
- Re-Fuel
- For additional money, FSS all bodies in system
- Jump to next location
Destination Systems:
- All In-transit system tasks, plus
- FSS scan all bodies
- Detail Scan (probe) all codex planets
- Detail Scan (probe) all Termaformable planets (for additional Explorer rank & credits)
Note on Fleet Carriers:
Along the way, especially at Guardian Sites, fleet carriers are often present. Do take the opportunity use their repair facilities. Also, if you do not synthesize fuel for you SRV, you can refuel them here by refueling your ship as well.
We do not suggest selling exploration data at the fleet carriers you'll run across along the way for two reasons. First, they take a tariff, reducing your earnings (and ranking with Exploration). Second, exploration data goes a long way to unlocking your engineers (Liz Ryder, Marco Qwent, etc.) you haven't already earned.
BE CAREFUL WHEN APPROACHING PLANETS! If you die, you lose all exploration data (which is money and exploration rank when you get back). You do keep your codex entries.
Unengineered Ships: If you are in an unengineered ship, we recommend removing non-KGBFOAM stars from your plotting (using the filter in Galaxy Map and applying the filter to your plotting route).
Scouted using this build (Coriolis ship site), but the tour is designed to be new player friendly, so pretty much any ship with around 20 Ly jump capable should work.
